What are Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts?

I know they're games, but on YouTube people put videos up and they almost look like TV shows? Are they TV shows too?
Also in the game what do you do? They look cool and I was thinking of getting Final Fantasy for my Xbox 360, but I'd like to know more about it first?

Ok I want to get into the Final Fantasy series/saga/chronicals. Caue there are like 1 million 57 games out for the same title.
