What Final Fantasy game should I start with?

I've played the demo for Final Fantasy 13 part 2 on my Xbox 360, and I really liked it. Many of my friends that have played it say it's really fun, and I agree. The only games similar to Final Fantasy that I have played is Kingdom Hearts. I want to give Final Fantasy a chance. So what game should I start with? I only have an Xbox and a PS2.

Why is Ultimate WEAPON disappearing in Final Fantasy VII ?

In Final Fantasy VII, I battle Ultimate WEAPON in disc 3 and after it starts roaming it settles over the mountains north of Corel. Its supposed to roam further until its HP drops below 20000 after which it was supposed to go to Cosmo Canyon.

Now I can't actually finish the game because I wanted to defeat every boss in the game, even if they are not compulsory. Is this a glitch? Please can anybody tell me why this is happening?

Why are final fantasy characters always white?

I'm wondering why the final fantasy characters are always white? I mean the game is made by an all japanese team and I figure it's main consumer is Japan, so why not make the characters japanese? I guess there are some people in the game that could be asian like Tifa. But I just don't understand why they make the game with white people? Any opinions?
I'm not trying to offend anyone I'm just curious.

How do you defeat NORG on Disc 2 of Final Fantasy 8?

I've recently been playing my old favourite of Final Fantasy 8 on Playstation and am stuck in battle with NORG on Disc 2 of the game. He always ends up killing the three characters and i'm unsure as to how to prevent this and win. Any help from people that have succeeded in carrying on with the rest of the game after, please let me know what you do!

To play Final Fantasy 13 do i need to play the other ones first?

Do i need to play the other Final Fantasy's before part 13, or is it like a different story line, or a story line that i should be able to catch up on and not be confused the whole game?

I know they're games, but on YouTube people put videos up and they almost look like TV shows? Are they TV shows too?

I've seen multiple trailers for the game(s) some with a woman as the main character, others with a man. i've heard that there might be 3 separate games with different characters, such as final fantasy XIII and ffxiii Versus.
