What does it take to make cartoons for tv?

I love cartoons and wanted to make them ever sense I was little. I was wondering what all goes in to making a cartoon. Like how many people and what different things there are for people to do. Do different people draw each character and another person or presons draw the backgrounds? And do character artist also animate or what?

Am i the only one that distinguishes the difference between cartoons and animation?

Cartoons by definition are drawn out slapstick jokes where animation is just the use of an animated medium to tell a story. So if a show isnt a comedy and has a plot line that carries and progresses then its not a cartoon.

How to find japanese cartoons on youtube?

One day my friend and I were watching Japanese cartoons and I forgot what she searched the cartoon by. I need to find it because I told my friend I would give it to her and I forgot what it was called. All I remember is that there was 3girls that transformed in to fairies or princess or something and they were all different colors when they transformed. I think there was pink, blue and something else.After they transformed, they sang. Please help me find it on YouTube!!!!!
