this is one of the greatest collabarations in graphic novel history..I heard it was about to be animated....josh
I haven't heard anything about Nexus becoming an animated series for a few years now. There was a 2 minute Nexus Animated Series Promo that was released in 2004, but the series was never picked up by anybody. I didn't find any information anywhere about Steve Rude and Mike Baron trying to get the series picked up by anybody, so I'm thinking it probably won't happen anytime soon.

Another Superman Orgin, New Infinitie Crises series, and Siegels about to claim the rights to Superman? What?
So I hear that DC Comics have decided to boot out John Byrnes Man of Steel orgin and also Birthright and create a new orgin story for Superman? Already? Ok, ok, maybe it should happen otherwise Superman in that is 50 something but still its surprising.. But how can they plan this if the Siegels are gonna claim the rights to Superman this Summer? And is the new Infinite Crises going to really be like the 80's Crisis just before Silver Age Superman was rebooted? How will this effect the future Superman movies (Which are in question of being made)? Will other DC characters like Batman be rebooted too? I just hope somebody can answer this and clear up my concerns.. I'd appreciate it a ton!
There really isn't enough information yet about Final Crisis to know what's going on there. DC, the editors and writers are keeping things very close this time and anything that is out there is just really speculation.
As for Superman, DC has changed origins on so many characters it wouldn't surprise me if they did his too but I haven't heard anything on the 'net about that. I've heard about the rights battle but I still can't see DC giving up those without a fight. When they gave up the rights to Superboy it wasn't that big of a deal but he's one of the Big 3 they have so I can't see them giving those up without one huge court scene.
Since I can't give you definitive answers, you can try here. http://boards.ign.com/comics_general_board/b5033/p1

Can anyone help me find a similar batman jacket/hoodie like these in the links?
I'd like it to be less than thirty dollars. The one at hot topic is ridiculously overpriced.
Like the one down there on the right, I could live without the lego looking thing on the elbow... http://www.highsnobiety.com/news/2007/06/18/bape-x-dc-comics-batmansupermanthe-flash/
Or this one, I don't want this exact one because it is overpriced and my dog would love chewing up the fabric on that hood. It just looks like it would rip easily and my dog tends to chew stuff. And I don't like the mask thing attached to the hood that you can poke your eyes through.
Okay, so I will just describe what I want now. I would like a batman jacket that is gray and has a batman logo on it. I don't mind if it has the bat-belt thing. I want it to have a black hood with bat-ears and that black lining on the edge of the bottom and on the tip of the sleeves like in the first two links. Sorry to be so picky. Thank you for your help(:

The Comics Journal has been, for almost 35 years, the standard bearer of critical inquiry, discrimination, debate, and serious discussion ofcomics as art, and the object of love and devotion among the comics cognescenti ? and hate and scorn among the philistines, natch. We published our 300th issue over a year ago and spent that time re-conceptualizing the institution as an annual book-length ?magazine? ? over 600 pages long, chock full of the kinds of criticism, interviews, commentary, and history that has made it the most award-winning and critically lauded magazine in the history of comics. This volume features a focus on R. Crumb?s most commercially successful project of his career, his comics adaptation of Genesis, including the most extensive interview he?s given on the subject as well as a long critical roundtable among six comics critics reviewing the book and debating each other over its merits; plus: ? An interview with Joe Sacco about his recent journalistic masterpiece, Footnotes in Gaza; ? A peek into the private sketchbooks of (and accompanying interviews with) Jim Woodring, Tim Hensley, and the novelist Stephen Dixon; ? A conversation between Mad Fold-Out creator Al Jaffee and Thrizzle auteur Michael Kupperman; ? A complete full-color reprinting of the 1950s Gerald McBoing Boing comic; ? just heard that Oprah wants Barack Obama from Illinois to be the next president ...Do you agree? Why?
Does Oprah think that everyone should agree with her no matter what she says..?? Well I don't.........I have a brain of my own , and I know how to use it....I know who she is talking about and he is a very nice man and all, but he is not presidential material. Sorry.
Obama…
I think he will be one of the political stars at the federal level in time, but I do not think he is Presidential material either. I don’t think he has enough experience in federal politics to be the “project manager” of the country yet.
Obama has about one term as a State Senator during the time where reams of corruption charges were brought against people in the state government. Also during this time, the Illinois budget had huge deficits.
After about a term as a State Senator, he was elected as a US Senator. He has managed to get a single-law passed, the “Google for Government” law. It is not a bad piece of legislation, but it isn’t something that is going to change our lives for the better. So far, Obama has acted like a newbie in Washington, probably because he is.
After another 6 year term as a Senator, he may very well get my vote. As of now, he doesn’t have an overly impressive resume. He did go to Harvard, which is nice for name recognition, but at the end of the day, doesn’t make him a good President. Prior to being a Senator, he did work in areas that really did help people. This helps, but it doesn’t change the fact he is new to federal politics.
The only thing I have against him is his lack of experience (for the same reasons, I’d never vote for Hillary). I think he’d be better than the President we currently have though.

Barack Obama: not Funny?
Barack Obama is now the 44th President of the United States. With that title, he has also been sworn in as the country’s first African-American leader. Change this, “Yes We Can” that, the man is an inspiration to many, but what about the comedians?
Bush Jr. gave material to so many people for eight years, and now we sit at the brink of a leadership focused on no-nonsense cleaning up. Has the funny gone? Will comedians have to look elsewhere for the punch lines? Bush will be quiet for a while, so there’s no reason to be poking around there.
So what do they do? Colbert for one has enough to work on; he's got the onscreen conservative persona to always come up with something. Steward on the other hand is at a loss. Apart from lower members of government fallings over themselves in sex or fraud scandals, what else can he do?
Saturday Night Live is supposedly on the look out for a better Obama impersonator. Fred Armison appears to be pretty bad at it, and from what the Internet has show, there are plenty of people to pick from.
At the same time, how far can you go with the funky new President that smokes, listens to Stevie Wonder, and is for gay people? We can only play out the whole "HOLY SHIT WE HAVE A COOL PRESIDENT" for at least another 5 minutes before it becomes stale. There are too many people behind the man to really enjoy any flubs that he will encounter over the next few years.
Here are some places on the web which I've found that show some promise for Obama-comedy:
Second City Toronto has formed a whole skit program aptly titled, "Barack to the Future". I love puns. Plus, it's a Canadian perspective.
So it's pretty much on the fence here. The web has limited resources on which to work with when it comes to funny Presidential comedy. Will the well dry up, or will the great man of change be a source of gaffs and laughs to come?
