Epic comic books.............?
I'm looking for a really awesome comic book. I really like V for Vendetta, but that's the only American comic I've read (I usually stick to anime). I was looking for a really good comic book that isn't about superheros, and more like a mystery, fantasy, sci-fi, or noir or neo-noir type thing. I'd prefer Sci-Fi, but not a Star Trek sort of thing, more like if there were a comic based on Halo or Mass Effect (:O Is is there?). I don't mind if there is gore, sexual content, est. Oh! Lastly it has to be really good. A bit of romance, drama, tragedy, I'd also like if it was dark and with lots of plot twists (Sorta a Neon Genesis Evangelion/Akira thing if you know what that is), but that isn't necessary.
In say read more of Alan Moore's works... (no pun intended)
He wrote V for Vendetta but also Watchmen... One of the greatest graphic novels ever written.. has heroes but I wouldn't call them Super... sometimes I am not sure if they are Heroes - thats the beauty of the the story! (Miracleman too)

10. Sky Doll (for your sci-fi needs)

Akira Kurosawa's Dreams $12.71 Following up on his critically acclaimed, blood-splattered epic Ran, master director Akira Kurosawa looks inward with this collection of eight brightly colored dreams. The first section centers on a young boy (Mitsunori Izaki), who witnesses a forest wedding procession of fox spirits in spite of his mother's (Mitsuko Baisho) warning. The second section concerns the same lad who converses with peach-tree spirits after the trees have been cruelly cut down. This is followed by a party of mountain climbers struggling to make it back to base camp in the midst of a terrible blizzard. The fourth dream deals with a man (Akira Terao) -- a Kurosawa stand-in complete with the director's trademark floppy white hat -- who encounters ghosts of Japan's militaristic past in a forlorn tunnel. In the following dream, the same man ventures into a Van Gogh painting called The Crows and meets the artist himself (Martin Scorsese). The sixth and seventh dreams venture into nightmare territory -- one deals with a nuclear meltdown that threatens Japan while the other concerns post-nuclear mutants.
